Three Penn State students are in competition to win a trip to Europe through Red Bull’s contest, “Can You Make It?”
After entering a one-minute video, the team known as “PSU Delts,” which consists of Andrew Schmitt, Bill Postufka and Mike Hua of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity quickly reached first place in the Eastern Division of the competition, leading by 300 votes, Postufka (senior-marketing) said.

If the PSU Delts place within the top 18 entries with the Eastern Division, it will be considered as one of four teams representing that division. As one of the top four teams in its division, the PSU Delts would take part in a seven-day journey across Europe with Paris being the final destination, using only cans of Red Bull as currency, Hua (senior-enterprise risk management) said.
“We wouldn’t be allowed to bring our phones or any money with us,” Postufka said.
However, with the Penn State Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Council Dance Marathon being held this past weekend, the PSU Delts feel behind in the competition as it wasn’t promoting the video as much. Both Schmitt and Hua took part in THON by dancing for DTD.
“We fell from 1st place to 4th place,” Schmitt (senior-finance) said. “We’re behind now by about 500 votes.”
The PSU Delts are the only Penn State team in the competition and are one of 165 student teams from over 50 countries.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience,” Postufka said
Students can vote for their team of choice by visiting the competition’s site. Voting closes Thursday closes at noon, Postufka said.
